On May 7, at 1924 hours, Charles County alerted units to Leonardtown Road in the area of the St. Mary's County Line for the motor vehicle collision reported one overturned, and another on fire. Rescue Engine 5-2 (RE52) responded. Seconds later Charles County upgraded the assignment with subjects trapped in the vehicle on fire. With the upgraded assignment, Ambulance 58 (A58) responded

RE52 arrived behind units from Hughesville and Mechanicsville to find three patients in serious condition, a vehicle well-off, and another overturned but no entrapment. The crew split and went to work assisting with patient care. A58 transported 1 patient to the landing zone.

All three patients would require air medical transport and were airlifted to area trauma centers by Troopers 2 and 7.
