Benedict Volunteers Run Hughesville Building Fire

On Thursday, January 9, 2014, at 03:16, Benedict was alerted to the building fire at Jimmy’s Corner. Engine 5-1(D. Arends) responded with 4 personnel. Engine 23 arrived on scene of a two story commercial structure and had light smoke showing from side "Charlie". Crews encountered fire in the wall in the area of the electrical panel. Engine 5-1 conducted a primary search of the first floor. After the search turned up negative, 5-1’s crew then assisted Hughesville on the second floor. The fire was quickly contained and the incident was scaled back to the units from Charles Station 2 and Rescue Squad 2. Engine 5-1 cleared at 03:51.
