Ambulance Runs 2nd Alarm Fire In La Plata

On Sunday, June 12, Member from La Plata and surrounding jurisdictions were alerted to 8607 Southern Star Place for the house fire. As members from Benedict were listening to the call, an EMS general alarm was sounded for any available EMS Units due to the weather. This was after the working fire dispatch, water supply task force, and the 2nd alarm. Ambulance 58 responded with 1 EMT and 2 non EMT's. Ambulance 58 arrived on scene and staged out on Old Stagecoach Road. EMS Chief 17 advised EMS units to bring jump bags and report to the scene. Once at the scene, 58's crew (along with other EMS units) assisted with treatment at the rehab station. A few EMT's walked around and checked on the conditions of the firefighters. EMS Chief 5B assisted Chief 17 with patient tracking. After a few hours, Ambulance 58 returned to service.
