DECEMBER 31
- The department is proud to announce that three of our members have successfully completed and passed the Maryland Institute of Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician - Basic course. The course consisted of 131 instructional hours plus numerous hours of ride alongs on their companies ambulances to obtain their patient assessments.
NOVEMBER 24
- On November 20, at 12:25, Ambulance 58 was dispatched to Charlotte Hall School Road and Route 5 for the motor veichle collision. 58 responded with 3. Mechanicsville and Hughesville units were on scene. 58 was advised that the patient was in the back of a private ambulance. 58 arrived on location and assumed patient care. 58 then transported to Civista Medical Center.... NOVEMBER 12
- On Saturday, Nov. 12, members of the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad traveled to Prince Frederick Volunteer Rescue Squad to train with Calvert K9 Search and Rescue. Members of both departments learned the different types of dogs used, different seach paterns, and information about the team. NOVEMBER 03
- The Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad placed a 2011 Ford F-350 in service as the new EMS Utility. OCTOBER 29
- On Saturday, October 28, members of the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad along with other departments from Southern Maryland traveled to Springfield, VA to train with Washington Gas. The members trained on the different types of gas line set ups and the proper responses for each.
