On Saturday, October 28, members of the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad along with other departments from Southern Maryland traveled to Springfield, VA to train with Washington Gas. The members trained on the different types of gas line set ups and the proper responses for each. After the class room portion, the members did live fire drills that incorporated shutting off the gas, gas detection, and fire department response to gas leaks and fires. A special thanks goes out to Washington Gas for hosting the drill.
