Swift Water 5 Responds For Waldorf Crash

On Saturday, January 18, Benedict's swift water team and the warm O2 unit was dispatched to the 4030 block of Dr. Samuel Mudd Rd for the vehicle into the water. Rescue Engine 5-2 (Past Chief Kerrigan), Ambulance 5-8(EMS Captain Griffin IV), and Chief 5(Cusick) responded with 6 personnel. Squad 3 arrived on scene to find a single vehicle off the roadway into a ravine with running water. The swift water units were later put back in service. 5-8 was continued and 5-2 returned. 5-8 was then put back in service prior to arriving on scene. Total of 5 patients were removed from the vehicle and transported to various hospital centers.
