On Saturday, May 17, members from Benedict traveled to Regency Stadium to participate in the Touch-a-Truck event. Members were given a chance to teach the public about the fire trucks, fire gear and fire safety.

At the end of the event, Engine Company 5 and EMS 5 were dispatched for a HAZMAT in Hughesville's first due. Engine 55 responded to the station for the ambulance and Engine 51 responded to the scene from Regency Stadium. Engine 51(Lt. Foard) provided secondary support and Ambulance 58(EMS Capt. Griffin IV) staged. The HAZMAT turned out to be a false alarm.

On Sunday, May 18, Members traveled to Hughesville to train on ventilation techniques with Station 2. Members got a chance to run the fans and demonstrated how to ventilate the roof. Engine 51, after the drill, traveled down to Benedict to train on hose lines. Members practiced laying out, and pulling the cross lays. During the weekend, Benedict ran 7 calls total and was fully staffed. Many thanks to Hughesville VFD for allowing us to train with them on Sunday.
