Benedict Member Receives MIEMSS EMS Provider of the Year Award

On May 21, 2014, EMS Captain Francis Griffin IV was presented the EMS Provider of the Year Award by the Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services Systems (MIEMSS). This award is presented to a provider who has made outstanding contributions in the past year to the continuous improvement of emergency medical services in Maryland.

The information on EMS Captain Griffin in the ceremony program read as follows: " Francis Allen Griffin IV, EMS Captain at the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad Inc., was selected as EMS Provider of the Year for demonstrating merit in his position. Capt. Griffin is in charge of training, supplies, maintenance and various daily operations, keeps the public up-to-date by posting stories on the BVFD website, trains others on the eMEDS reporting tool, and is well respected and appreciated in his community."

Congratulations to EMS Captain Griffin on his selection over the many other applicants for the award. His hard work and outstanding dedication to EMS, the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and his community are in keeping with the highest values of our volunteer system and sets an example for all others to follow.
