During EMS week, ambulance 58 was equipped with a new device, the pet oxygen mask. For most people, their pets are family. The pet oxygen mask is a device designed for just pets. During a house fire, the smoke causes carbon monoxide poisoning. Just like humans, animals are not immune to its effects. The mask has made a dramatic impact in the D.C. Metro are including Fairfax and Prince George's County where the mask are used. This piece of equipment is another tool in a vast arsenal to continue serving the public.
