On Sunday, June 6, 2014, members participated in the war of 1812 events held in the town of Benedict. The morning began with a ground breaking ceremony on the waterfront improvements. After the ceremony, a small town parade was held featuring most of the town. The parade was lead to the ball field where a town picnic was conducted. During the picnic, the other people who attended went to the St. Francis Church Hall and listened about the history of the War of 1812. During the picnic, numerous events were planned including corn hole, a pie eating contest, and a egg role. For the kids, firefighers used the hose as a sprinkler. Everyone who participated had a lot of fun. Thank you to the residents of to the town of Benedict who came out and showed their pride.
