On August 28th 2006 at approximately 0619 hours Charles County Communications dispatched a house assignment to 7050 Orchard View Lane; for the odor of smoke in a house. Engine 5-3 quickly responded and arrived on the scene of a 2 story single family with nothing showing. Chief 5-A who was driving Engine 5-3, assumed the Command while the crew investigated. Rescue Engine 5-2 and Tanker 5 also responded on the call, arriving moments behind Engine 22. The crews investigated an odor determined to not be smoke or any type of hazardous material. Command was terminated and units returned to service. The crew from Engine 5-3 was back out the door within seconds of going in quarters, this time on the Ambulance for a diabetic emergency. They were quickly placed in-service by another unit responding on the call.
