On September 22, while on a live fire training exercise in Hughesville, Benedict volunteers responded to a motor vehicle collision with reported people trapped at Prince Frederick Rd. and Brandywine Rd. Chief 2B and Engine 5-3 under the command of Chief 5B (Aaron Ruslander), arrived on the scene and found one subject trapped. Squad 2 arrived shortly after and extricated the patient with assistance from Engine 5-3's crew. One patient was transported to P.G. Trauma Center via Trooper 2 and the second patient was transported by Hughesville EMS priority 2 to Civista Medical Center. Engine 5-3 operated on scene for approximately 30 minutes before returning to the live fire training exercise.
