On Saturday, June 6, Benedict VFDRS was dispatched by Charles County Communications for mutual aide to Calvert County for an accident on the Benedict Bridge. Rescue Engine 5-2 under the command of Chief 5A (M. Carrino) and Ambulance 5-8 responded. Ambulance 5-8 was first to arrive on location and Rescue Engine 5-2 shortly after. Chief 5A advised Calvert units to stage on their side of the bridge. Calvert Chief 2A continued in to the scene. After a face to face with Chief 5A, units from company 5 where held and Calvert units went in service. Ambulance 5-8 transported 1 patient to Calvert Memorial Hospital. Rescue Engine 5-2 assisted one of the vehicles so it could clear the bridge under its own power. Units cleared shortly after.

Units: Chief 5, Chief 5A, Rescue Engine 5-2, and Ambulance 5-8
