This past week a few members of the Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, along with members from the Auxiliary attended the 117th Annual Maryland State Firemens Convention in Ocean City. The members spent time in classes, meetings, a memorial service, seminars and ceremonies. On Wednesday morning they all came together to clean up apparatus for the annual parade. That afternoon the members took the apparatus through the parade route to show their pride in their company. The members' hard work and dedication to their department paid off at the awards ceremony following the parade. Benedict won 2nd Best Appearing Ambulance for 5-8 and Best Appearing Tanker Over 1500 Gallons for Tanker 5. Thank you to all the members for your hard work and dedication that made this a successful convention.
A special thanks to Prince Frederick Rescue Squad for loaning us one of their ambulances so we could take ours to the parade.
