Engine 2-4 and Engine 5-4 arrived to find heavy fire in the area of the powerlines. Engine 2-4 and Engine 5-4 reported to command and immediately went to work. Engine 5-4, Engine 2-4 and PG B-40 watered down a 20 foot area to control fire spread. Crews noticed fire on a hill. Tanker 5 was in the staging area filling up units. Engine 5-4 then assisted PG company 36's crew with bladder bags and hose lines to hit fire on the other side of the power lines. Crews then assisted units with a defensive operation on the back side of the fire. Crew's created a fire line from the powerlines to the train tracks. From there, they created the fire line to the marsh area next to the tracks. The fire consumed 60 acres from Chalk Point to the powerline. Heavy winds hampered operations. Crews were on scene from 10:06 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. the next day. During the day, Benedict ran numerous brush fires.
