On July 3, 2004 at 1900 hours, Boat 5 was enroute to stand-by on the Patuxent River for the Golden Beach Fire Works display. While at the stand-by Boat 5 was dispatched to the Huntingtown area of the Patuxent River for the reported child in the water. Boat 5 arrived in the area with the DNR police and set up search patterns. After searching the area until 10:30pm the search was discontinued until the next day.
